Due to the Government imposed lockdown that took place at the start of March, it subsequently forced sports leagues and teams to postpone various scheduled events planned for the year 2020.
However, fast forward to July of this year, with restrictions being eased and testing readily available, some sporting events were allowed to continue using the behind closed doors method along with strict health & safety guidelines.
With this behind closed-door method set for only a select few, Lancashire Cricket Club were contacted by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), having been carefully chosen to host the Test Matches against the West Indies at the start of July. With this great opportunity came stringent health & safety guidelines whilst also providing wind loaded temporary fencing where they could advertise their sponsors branding during broadcasts of the matches.
The club contacted FenceSafe Hire, part of the CLD Group of Companies, who supplied them with their revolutionary FenceSafe Eclipse Temporary Fencing. Among specific requirements, the FenceSafe Eclipse system with 1.22m centres were manufactured and supplied by FenceSafe Hire and installed by a trusted northern contractor for sections of their site.
Lancashire Cricket Club needed a Temporary Fencing System that would stand up against high winds allowing them to advertise their sponsors branding for the media and that would also act as a safety barrier in designated areas of the cricket ground.
Lancashire Cricket Club’s main concern was the compatibility of the temporary fencing with screens which would allow them to showcase their sponsors branding during broadcasts of the test matches. The project requirements are as followed:
“The Club will work alongside the ECB and the Government to ensure that specific measures are implemented across the stadium and our own ‘Safe in one Place’ programme with everything you need being on-site… I have complete faith… as we support the ECB in getting fixtures played behind closed doors in a bio-secure environment.”
